Motorcyclist killed in Brampton crash Peel regional police say a motorcyclist is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Brampton on Wednesday.Emergency crews were called to the Goreway Drive and Auction Lane area at around 4:44 p.m. The motorcyclist, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. There’s no word at this point on possible charges. Police are advising drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

UT researcher innovates new device to purify water from creeks, streams AUSTIN (KXAN) – In response to recent natural disasters that have left millions of Texans without water for extended periods, a University of Texas at Austin researcher was motivated to innovate a device that can purify water from streams in creeks in minutes. D. Emma Fan, an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, led a team that developed a mug-sized device that uses a small jolt of electricity to remove bacteria from water.
